On Blogging: Finding my Niche Part 1

When I started my blog back in February, I did it on a whim. I was tired of work and needed a space to just write. But as I started putting more effort into my blog, I realized that I needed to think about my niche. What do I want from my blog? What do I want others to read? What do I want my personal brand to be? I’ve been thinking about these questions a lot and to be honest, I don’t know. I love writing about so many things. I love writing about books, being a teacher, fashion, lifestyle, and my own reflections.

I have done a few things to help me find my niche and figure out my goals. I’ve looked at other blogs, read a few articles, and talked to my sisters about it. But with all of these, I am still not sure what I want my blog to be about. The more that I think about it though, the more I realize that it’s not going to be an easy thing to figure out. It’s going to take time, research, reflection, and more writing to find my niche. I hope that the more I write, the more my own brand comes out.

My plan is to keep reading. The more I read, the more it helps me learn more about blogging. I am also going to keep up my goal of posting 2-3 times per week and write about what feels right! I will look at others blogs too. I have a few favorite bloggers whose content I love and who I find inspiring. I am hoping that looking at their blogs will help me create my own. Lastly, I am going to make some mood and inspiration boards. Let’s see how this goes! You can follow me through this process by following my blog or following me on Instagram at @sejalina.

Here I am with my dog, Rani. Yesterday, I was struggling to find the motivation to write this post.
